some truths that i believe in
It was my first time to lead for a Pastoral Prayer in the church, especially in a service. I really didn’t know what to pray for. I was shocked and nervous when Ate Loren asked me to do it but still I said “Yes”. Ate Loren asked me to do the Pastoral Prayer on a Wednesday and that’s the same day that I’ll be doing the Pastoral Prayer. I was so busy because of work on that particular day. I wasn’t able to prepare what to pray for. When I arrived to church the worship team was practicing and Sugar was there and we just chatted for a while and had dinner. It was a mistake, I guess, that we had dinner that time. I was late for the prayer time of the whole team for the service. When I went back to church the service will just about to start in a minute. Ate Loren just told me that I’ll be praying after the last song which is “Heart of Worship”. There, the service started and of course the first part will be the Praise and Worship but still I really didn’t know what to do or to pray for. I just sang and asked the Lord to fill me with His love and Spirit. That was just my whole prayer while I’m singing.
The last two songs really stroke me, “All About You” and “Heart of Worship”. I was just singing and the song; I made it the prayer of my heart. As the last songs end, I just went to the stage and then I prayed. I praised the Lord, I said that it’s all about Him and it’s not about us, not about our worldly desires. I just kept on saying those words, that thought, and then I just confessed for being blinded by our fleshly desires. I know I stood there for about 5-10 minutes and I felt the Lord is really beside me. He really impressed on me what to say, what to pray for. The energy that I had, it was from Him alone.
After my prayer, after saying “in Jesus’ name, Amen” they all said “ang taas ng energy” and they were referring to my prayer. I was just smiling and thanking the Lord because I know that God really used me that time. I don’t know but I want to do it again, do it longer than the first. It’s like there something more, it’s like God will be coming down before us and He will be visible in that place, that we will really meet Him, but God is good He didn’t let me take control. He controlled the situation. It was His love, His mercy, grace and faithfulness. I know He is real. He is alive!
Praise the Lord for His marvelous works. Praise the Lord for He moves even in simple things we can’t even imagine. Praise the Lord!
